★ OFF-THE-GRID SITE – ADDITIONAL INFO ★ Living off the grid, surrounded by a breathtaking natural environment, is a truly magical experience. However, there are some things you need to be aware of before you arrive at this dreamy haven. ☆ Electricity ☆ This site is off-grid and not connected to the electric grid. There is a solar-powered generator for cell phones and laptops. 3G is excellent, so you won’t have trouble checking your messages or texting your loved ones. ☆ Steep Access – 4 Wheel Drive Only ☆ Access is well maintained but too steep for 2-wheel drive. If you are coming with a 2-wheel drive car, you can park and hike for about 15 minutes until you reach the cottage. ☆ Kindling & Wood ☆ Please note we do not supply wood for the outdoor fire pits. If you wish to bring some you are more than welcome to. We do supply pellets for the pellet stove that is already PRE PROGRAMED so you do not need to worry about achieving the desired temperature. ☆ Wildlife ☆ Bears are extremely shy but hungry. Please store all the food. If you are an early riser and quieter, you may see bobcats, foxes, deer, turkeys, hawks, falcons, grouse, owls, and ravens. ☆ Linens &Bedding ☆ Bring your sheets and bedding for the queen mattress, which is hermetically sealed and disinfected for your protection. ★ ADDITIONAL ACCOMMODATION ON THE PROPERTY ★ Traveling in a larger group, or your preferred dates are already taken? Unattended pets must be securely crated. Please clean up after your pet and dispose of waste properly (in trash). All wheel drive is required. the gravel road its well maintained but much to steep for 2 wheel drive vehicles. In winter months fire building and wood stove skills are required.

We loved the views from our perch on the mountain. Jen and Doug’s cabin was super clean and cozy. We had easy access to anything that came up as their place is not far from Asheville or local stores and restaurants. We really didn’t want to leave after settling in. Our Grand Cherokee didn’t struggle with climbing up or coming down the mountain. Bummed about only staying for one night but it was worth it.

Our second stay at Ravens Rock and it was just as beautiful as we remembered! Jen and Doug are so responsive and helpful— Jen going so far as to deliver us ice for our cooler in the rain to save us a 30 minute drive 🫶🏼 It’s so peaceful and the views are spectacular. Always always a pleasure!

We recommend that you arrive in a car as it will give you much freedom to explore, enjoy the beautiful and breathtaking nature of Eastern Continental Divide, and venture to other locations. As you already know, we offer a free parking spot. FOUR WHEEL DRIVE OR ALL WHEEL DRIVE ONLY! The gravel road is well maintained but VERY STEEP. There is 2 wheel drive parking at the bottom of gravel access road.
